Hurricane Sandy Hits Rhode Island and VIBCO

by Edward Huff | Oct 31, 2012

On Monday October 29, Hurricane Sandy swept through Rhode Island where VIBCO's World Headquarters resides knockout power and creating severe destruction throughout the state. Our headquarters and factory were untouched with only a few limbs down in the front yard. As we arrived at work on Tuesday morning all was well and work commenced like any other day except everyone was telling their own personal story of riding out the storm. However, at 8:00 the factory went dark as the power had been shut off somewhere along the grid. Some assembly continued by window light and shipments were made, however many operations were shutdown and by noon it was obvious that we should shut the factory down completely. Today, Wednesday, October 31, we still do not have power and the factory is still not operational. We always strive to provide the very best products and services to our customers and are distressed that we cannot do that today. We apologize for any inconvenience, we will resume all operations as quickly as we can.
